HEALTH CARETO KEEP YOU COVERED
Worthington Steel offers two medical plan options with a Health Savings Account (HSA) — the HSA Blue Plan and the HSA Green Plan. Both plans are self-funded, which means Worthington Steel pays the health care claims, not an outside insurance company.
That’s why it’s important to help us control costs by spending wisely. Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield offers a broad national provider network with strong in-network discounts.
Review the table below comparing 2024 coverage and costs for both plans. As you consider your options for next year, review What’s New to be sure you understand the contributions and costs before you enroll.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Who’s eligible for the HSA Plan?
Most employees are eligible. But, you can’t contribute to an HSA if:
- You’re enrolled in another medical plan like Medicare, your spouse’s plan or military coverage.
- You received VA medical care within the last three months without a disability rating.
If one of the above applies to you, you may enroll in an alternative plan. Call the Worthington Steel People Center at 614-840-3002 to learn more and enroll.
How do I update my HSA contributions?
- Log into the Worthington Steel enrollment site.
- Click the “Life Event” link on the left of your personalized page.
- Follow the prompts for a Health Savings Account change.
If you prefer, you can check and change your HSA contributions by calling the Worthington Steel People Center at 614-840-3002.
Can I decline Worthington Steel medical coverage?
You may decline coverage but you must do so during Open Enrollment. Otherwise, your current elections will roll over into 2025 (except for any FSA elections, which require an active election each year).
New Hires: You may decline coverage within 30 days of your hire date. If you don’t decline coverage, you’ll be automatically enrolled in the HSA Green Plan and will be charged the Tobacco Surcharge.
To decline coverage, log into the Worthington Steel enrollment site, or call 614-840-3002.
Is my doctor in-network?
You can go to any doctor you’d like, but you’ll save money — and help keep all our health care costs down — when your doctor is in-network.
To confirm your doctor is in-network, or to find a new provider, call Quantum Health at 866-920-1925.
Note that beginning Jan. 1, 2025, Anthem will replace Quantum Health. You will be able to find in-network providers using the “Find Care” tool on the Sydney Health app. Additional information will be available in early 2025.
Additional Information
If you or any of your covered dependents use tobacco or other nicotine products, you’ll pay a Tobacco Surcharge of $40 per month. The surcharge can be waived after you or your dependents have been tobacco free for six months or upon completion of our tobacco cessation program. Call the Worthington Industries Medical Center at 888-490-3500 to learn more.
Beginning next year, you will have access to Anthem’s LiveHealth Online tobacco cessation program, Tobacco Free, which provides 12 months of virtual access to a health coach to help you make a plan and stick to it to quit tobacco. To get started, beginning Jan. 1, 2025, contact your Anthem Family Advocate at 833-824-1434 or log onto the Sydney Health app.
